Carpenter and Entrepreneur Teams with World of Work to Give Students Motivation in Finding a Passionate Career

The World of Work initiative is all about kids uncovering hidden potential for their future. By connecting students with professionals in a wide range of industries and professions, the World of Work gives students the power to understand how they can have a joyful and lucrative career. Meet a Pro chat sessions is just one way the World of Work does this. Meet a Pro sessions are done through technology that allows hundreds, even thousands, of students to go on a virtual field trip to get a glimpse of amazing careers they could aspire to. One Meet a Pro brought students into the life of independent carpenter Travas Brandt.

During this Meet a Pro, Travas explained that there is a serious need for skilled carpenters that isn’t being met. In traditional education, most students won’t ever learn about the career of carpentry, let alone gain working knowledge and hands on experience in the field. The World of Work changes that and puts lessons into teachers’ hands that helps kids understand the many options they have for a career in their future. Travas Brandt says that you can live your life right, live it well, and make a good living doing it if you find your passion and explore what you are naturally good at. He feels like he is in the right place in his life and finds great joy in his career as a carpenter. Travas found the right career fit for himself, and the World of Work can help all children find theirs. Watch Travas at work at in his shop here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPTDBJ8IzqA
